Feedback on the Updated OpenMRS Wiki

We’re excited to announce the recent revamp of the OpenMRS wiki! This update led by @aahil was aimed at making the wiki more accessible, organized, and user-friendly.

We would love to hear your feedback on the updated wiki. Your input is invaluable as we continue to improve the documentation experience.

Please share your thoughts on:

  • Navigation: Is the new navigation structure easy to follow and understand?
  • Content: Is the content clear, concise, and up-to-date? If not, mention the specific content.
  • Search Functionality: Is the search function effective in finding the information you need?
  • Missing Information: Are there any specific topics or files that you think are missing?

Your feedback will help us identify areas for improvement and ensure that the wiki meets the needs of our diverse community.

NOTE: Some content was moved to the archive section more so pages that are outdated and no longer receive updates.

Thanks for sharing this update on the wiki revamp.

As someone onboarding recently, I found the overall structure much clearer than before. One area that still felt a bit overwhelming from a new contributor’s perspective was Step 4: “Choose Your Flight Path and Begin Contributing.”

While the information is useful, a short, explicit “suggested first steps” note (for example: reading project docs → observing one meeting → starting with a small documentation or intro issue) could help first-time contributors know how to begin with more confidence.
