Hello OpenMRS community . As part of a client engagement , we would like to build our IPD capabilities including the Drug Chart / Medication Administration Record . As part of this flow, we need the ability to indicate which medications are intended to be administered in IPD. For this, extending the existing data model will facilitate to identify the IPD medications from the list of medications of the patient, which eventually will help to streamline IPD capabilities. Please let us know if it is possible to extend the existing drug_orders data table to help indicating or differentiating the medications intended for IPD administration. cc @angshuonline @gsluthra @grace @ibacher @dkayiwa

When placing an order, there is a care_setting attribute already associated with the order that’s intended to capture precisely the difference the IPD and OPD orders.
If, for whatever reason, that doesn’t meet your need, this seems like a use-case for an order attribute.
