Hello friends, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request a review of the development stages of the following developers @minimalist, @dkibet, @jecihjoy, @jnsereko and all former GSoC students. Your expertise and guidance will be instrumental in helping them achieve their full potential.
They have been working diligently on a wide range of projects, and they have reached a critical juncture in their development. Your insights and constructive feedback could greatly enhance the quality of their work and contribute to organisation growth.
N/B the list is not comprehensive since I may not know all the developers, Project Managers or community managers in different organisations within OpenMRS community that deserves a higher stage than what they are having now…
@jwnasambu What a great idea and your timing is fantastic! Not only has GSoC and our Fellowship Program come to an end, our upcoming November Community Meeting gives us a perfect opportunity to recognize everyone who has achieved a new dev, pm, and/or omrs stage this year.
I know that @jayasanka has been thinking about the same thing - and maybe he’s reached out to GSoC mentors to get their input on the right dev stage for GSoC contributors. And there likely are others in the community who might be deserving of a higher dev stage.
Our process for determining who should advance & when is in need of some TLC. Until we give it that TLC, please try using this recommendation form to tell us who you think should advance to a higher dev, omrs, or pm stage - and why. If you think you’ve earned a higher stage, you can use the form to recommend yourself! I’ll then liaise with /dev/3s, /dev/4s, and /dev/5 to review & make the right stage adjustment.
As a reference, check out the dev, PM, omrs stages pages on our wiki to get a high level view of the criteria, expectations, and priveleges for each stage. This worksheet, which is a work in progress, can give you some more details about the specific skills each stage needs to meet the criteria and expectations.
Hello dear, I must admit the load you are carrying is too big that I can’t stand even for an hour and for that case I want to say thank you so much and be blessed. Concerning this
I believe some members didn’t submit there names because they believe senior devs should review there work and give them the development stages they deserve. for that case I kindly request for the following name to be reviewed for the next dev stages @minimalist, @jnsereko, @jecihjoy, @mozzy, @ruhanga, @samuel34, @dkibet, @hadijah315, @vasharma05 and many others who are holding dev stages that are lower.
The great thing about the recommendation form is that /dev/4s and /dev/5s are now using it to make nominations/recommendations - and we’ve received recommendations for many of the community members that you mentioned.
Some of the recommendations suggested checking with other /dev/4s and /dev/5s, which is in progress. So stay tuned on Talk for more upgrades soon!
Thank you for the update! It’s fantastic to hear that the recommendation form is actively being utilized by /dev/4s and /dev/5s, and that nominations for many community members are already underway. I’m excited to see the outcomes of the recommendations and look forward to more upgrades on Talk. By the way, I was correct in saying that your shoe is too big for me to wear.

Thank you so much Juliet for this catch. There are indeed multiple names here who were recommended for higher stages and are very due to be recognized as such. We’ll act to correct this ASAP.
