Contributing a gsoc 2018 project

Hey I am jayamal

I have read the developer manual and did the following thing according to that manual

I have installed the openMRS in my local computer successfully I have installed openMRS SDK successfully I have integrated and configured the intelijIDEA to do the development works

I would like to contribute “Merge Patient data from Multiple Installations” project in gsoc 2018. So now I want to know what I have to do further in order to participate in gsoc 2018 and continue my contribution. Your guidance would be much appreciated

I would recommend you to go through the issue tracker and watch out for some introductory tickets and try to solve them.

Check out expectations from the students , this will surely help you.

Be in touch with the community in all the ways possible.

Read the documentation regarding the project which you are interested in and get familiar with the project.

Once you are familiar with the project and have queries and ideas(which you surely will have! :slight_smile: ) , open up a thread regarding all of the stuff related to that project.

Keep discussing and keep contributing. :slight_smile:

Hey

I like to contribute this openMRS. But actually I am little bit confused here. I am working with intelijIDEA and I configured it to work with this openMRS. Now I have some problems

  1. what is the server that use to run this openMRS, is it Tomcat or another
  2. can we develop this project using intelijIDEA
  3. If we can use intelijIDEA to develop this what is the purpose of using openMRS SDK
  4. what can we do using openMRS SDK

can you please help me, your help is very much appreciated
