is there a way to schedule a new appointment for a patient using the “Manage Appointments” Button? (not through the patient’s dash board)

Yes, you can. ‘Manage Appointments’ options open up a search box where you can find patient by entering name or identifier. Clicking on any search result will directly take you to the Appointment Scheduling option of that particular patient through patient dashboard. You will have to schedule an appointment through Patient Dashboard only. This option just simplifies the task by giving search option and a shortcut to it.
