Can I Set Up My Own Free Public Terminology Server for Testing FHIR-Compatible CDSS Integration?

I am currently integrating the CDSS module into Bahmni Standard 1.0.0 and came across the need for a FHIR-compatible CDSS server, as referenced in the documentation. The public terminology server I’m using for testing (https://snowstorm.ihtsdotools.org/fhir) often goes down, making it difficult to complete the integration. I’m wondering if it’s possible to set up my own public terminology server for testing purposes, preferably for free. If anyone has experience with this or can guide me on how to set up a terminology server, I would appreciate the help!

FHIR-compatible CDSS server

Hi @dikshant, SNOMED offers Snowstorm as a free open-source terminology server if you are only working with SNOMED CT. If you want to work with other content, Open Concept Lab (openconceptlab.org) is an open source terminology service that supports any type of content that has a public service that you can use online or download to set up locally. OCL does not support some features that are specific to a single terminology (like SNOMED’s ECL) but it does support much of the FHIR R4B terminology services spec. Feel free to reach out with questions.

Hello @dikshant , we’ve been using OCL in production for EMR projects for a couple years now (MSF). I’d be happy to share experience and assist with questions where I can.

Hello @michaelbontyes , I have sent you a message. Could you please guide me through the process?

Hi @paynejd Thank you for your response I want to access a FHIR Terminology Server capable of expanding SNOMED CT Implicit Value Sets using ECL. Can I set up this process for free in Snowstorm locally? Also, does it require the R2 file, which needs a license?
