Hi everyone — I’m Bala Srikanth, a software engineer building Health Wallet, a patient-facing app that lets individuals access, organize, and understand their own health information in one place.
Current prototype: Synthea-generated synthetic patients → HAPI FHIR R4 server (Dockerized) → a React web app with five screens (Patient Home, Health Summary, Full Records, Share With Doctor, Emergency Card). Repo: GitHub - Gandiboina/Health-wallet: Patient-facing health data app built on HL7 FHIR, HAPI FHIR Server, and Synthea data · GitHub
I came across OpenMRS while researching interoperability efforts, and given your community’s deep experience deploying EHR systems in real, often resource-constrained settings, I’d love to learn from that perspective — especially around what patient-facing (not just clinician-facing) tools tend to get wrong, and whether there’s overlap between what I’m building and existing OpenMRS modules or initiatives.
Happy to answer questions about my implementation, and looking forward to learning from this community.
