Blocked for 3 weeks | 3 PRs ready but no Jira access (manoj4914)

Hey everyone,

I’m reaching out because I’ve been stuck in a bit of an ‘access loop’ for about 20 days now. I’m trying to get my Jira ‘Create’ permissions sorted so I can finally link my PRs for GSoC, but I keep hitting the ‘Not Authorized’ error.

I’ve followed the wiki to the letter, linked my GitHub to my ID (manoj4914), and followed the login steps the mentors suggested on Slack, but still no luck. I have four HelpDesk tickets open (ISD-19522, COMMUNITY-1843, 1847, 1849) but they’ve all been sitting in ‘Waiting for Triage’ for weeks.

I’ve got 3 PRs ready to go and I’m really eager to get them in, but I’m just totally blocked on the admin side at this point. If an admin could please take a look at my account permissions, I’d really appreciate it.

I have just confirmed that you already have access. What error are you encountering when you try to log in to your Jira account?

iam not able create a jira ticket which is to be attached with my github pr so that it can have a chance to get merged and i can continue with my gsoc / open source journey

Oh, I feel your frustration, especially when there are active PRs in play!

Something that may help during this time of waiting: If your PRs are ready, then you might just post the PRs themselves to the relevant project threads via GitHub and allow maintainers to review them in the meantime until the Jira permissions issues are sorted out.

As you now have several HelpDesk tickets filed, it may also be helpful to reference all the ticket IDs in one comment to give the administrators everything they need in one glance.

thank you so much daniel, i would have never noticed it since i already logged in and there seems to be another login button. this taught me a new lesson! i now have jira access and i’m creating the tickets for all three PRs right away. will update the PR titles with the ticket numbers once done. really appreciate the help

quick update for anyone who finds this thread later — everything is sorted now! created TRUNK-6621, TRUNK-6622, and TRUNK-6623 and updated all three PR titles. a big thank you to everyone who replied and helped me get through this, really means a lot. this community is genuinely amazing :folded_hands:
