So I was recently completing a Google Code-in task which entailed me to find ways in which the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence can improve the OpenMRS system. I completed this task (GCI-2019 : New Ideas from GCI Students to improve OpenMRS) but was wondering whether there was any way I could help contribute to making this a reality? Are the developers already working on this? Or can I try to implement this alongside me completing my tasks?

We are happy for new idea of Artificial intelligence, My advice would be go a head and implement it in any challenge solving problem related with openmrs, then if the solution has any good impact . i think you will have more information from core devs, first make it work using AI as you have suggested

With the (fairly - convo is only 5 years old!) recent advancements in AI:
- LLMS more useable
- AI Agents within reach
- Frameworks like LangChain.js stable (you can advise)
- “Vibe Coding
” - Potential for code optimization and vulnerability scans (We have human sentinels that maintain the citadel but they can be assisted)
- Tools for automation that can be self-hosted in docker containers n8n (Need to examine privacy concerns) example , example
I suggest we give it a look and find ways of safely and productively incorporating it in strategy, operations etc. (Thinking out loud, if there are already discussions kindly share a link to loop me in!)
