Kindly forgive me for bring up this but I couldn’t hold it anymore . We are in an open source community where everyone has played his/her role to the community but I wish to express my sincere gratitude for the way @dkayiwa treat everyone with fairness and respect. Even in a paid leadership role, you consistently give people opportunities to learn and grow.
Your humility, fairness, and willingness to support others create an environment where people feel valued and encouraged. This has personally inspired me and strengthened our community.
Thank you for showing that true leadership is about dignity and support, not status. Your example is deeply appreciated.
But please also allow me to thank you even much more for your commitment to the OpenMRS community, and in a special way, for your commitment and willingness to help others! This is not so easy for anyone to do most especially when you are not paid. Moreover even those who are paid are not doing it. Your endless efforts in reviewing other peoples’ pull requests, answering their questions on talk, doing help desk tasks, and more, even when no one has asked you, and yet you do not get paid even a single coin to at least compensate for your data!!! You are such a treasure for the OpenMRS community that we may never fully understand, until when you will be gone!!!
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. I truly appreciate them more than you know. That said, today is really about celebrating you and the incredible impact you have had to the community at large. Your leadership, guidance, and constant support inspire many of us to keep contributing and helping others as well.
I’m grateful to be part of this journey together and I hope you take the time today to celebrate yourself and everything you have done for the community.
For sure , People like Daniel and “others”, help make the community welcoming and inspiring and most importantly leading the milk takers towards a solid food. Thank you, Daniel and team, for being such a great help to many of us.
