I am excited to announce that Samuel Lubwama (@slubwama) has been elected as the new Community Representative to the OpenMRS Board of Directors for the 2026–2028 term.
This seat is a link between our leadership and the people who make OpenMRS happen every day. Samuel was chosen for his commitment to the community’s long-term success and his ability to bring real-world perspectives to our collective work.
The Results:
Elected Representative: Samuel Lubwama
Vote Count: Samuel garnered 55% of the total first-choice votes.
Total Participation: 181 total votes were cast.

I’m truly humbled and excited to serve as the Community Representative on the OpenMRS Board for the 2026–2028 term. OpenMRS is built by people who show up every day to contribute, implement, support, and improve the platform, and I’m honored to help carry those voices to the Board.
