about Javascript developers

I am a total newbie in tech and programming generally. I am sorry if the question I amyet to ask is so childish; Do I have to be a mainly Java programmer for me to contribute to OpenMrs projects? I am currently into Javascript and I want to first get better at it before jumping to any other language.

Hi @seremba

Yes still you can. Most of the modules are now in the process of writing with react.js.And some of the current modules are written from angualar.js as well.

For a starting point please look at this project

And look at the openmrs jira for the project issues.Try to contact members who are developing it so you can get an idean and also can get in to the sprint call’s as well :slightly_smiling_face:

Tried editing the ReadMe of the openmrs-ocl-client! but the pull request was rejected right away! Could it be possible that the project was completed? or I made a mistake somehow somewhere! I am starting small to get my feet wet with open source contribution!

@seremba was it some thing that was required , i mean where you working on a ticket ??

No. It was not a ticket! I am actually glad that I understood how the process works

@seremba thats Great. I deallly all the work done is managed by Jira , to track progress, and keep record of all the work/tasks/projects being done.

In case you find some thing you may think need improvement , the first task is to create a Ticket in jira, or you can always work on existing Tickets

You can probably read through https://wiki.openmrs.org/display/docs/Getting+Started+as+a+Developer , i know you have completed mst of the steps there , but it may be worth reading through anyway :slightly_smiling_face:
