At this week’s GEM meeting, we’ll hone in on our November Community Meeting planning and discuss:

  • Outreach to potential OpenMRS presenters (squads OR implementers)
  • Getting the word out via Digital Health Week
  • Fleshing out our schedule
  • AOB

ICYMI, last week we made great progress on our plans for November’s online Community Meeting and initial discussions around OMRS24 planning:

Thank you to @suubi7 @erica @lskindagirls and @wodpachua for all of the great ideas & suggested actions you shared during today’s discussion!

Here’s a quick rundown of what we covered:

  • Update the community about our GDHF abstract status

  • What is Digital Health Week

  • How can we market our 30-45 minute November 9 DHW session (and other events)?

    • Make sure we make an announcement on Talk. This gets word out to active community members. Use email to reach non-technical audiences (ie: ministries).

    • Should be doing some drumbeat messaging as build up to the events.

    • OpenMRS has a Canva Pro subscription (for free!) Share your email address or request the link to join our Canva team and use it to work on posts/flyers/etc

    • Good to have a review/validation process of the messages that go out.

      Decision: use our #global-events Slack channel to share drafts & get feedback (by Tuesday) and put on our weekly meeting agenda if necessary. Thursday afternoons might be the best time to send out emails & social media posts.

  • Try to get out messages before the end of this week about DHW & November Community Meeting.
