What’s this about? This is a time and space to advance a culture of mentoring in our community by:

  • Connecting with other OpenMRS mentors
  • Sharing mentoring tools and resources
  • Asking questions about mentorship techniques and tools
  • Discussing ways to succeed as a mentor

We can also do deep dives into some of the essentials for making mentorship work. For instance, we had a great conversation last week around giving and receiving feedback.

We had a few people join today’s Office Hours and we ended up diving deeper into giving feedback - specifically, how to actually give effective and constructive feedback (the “meat”). Here’s a recording for those who couldn’t join us today - or in case you want to go back for another listen.

Next week, we’re going to talk about how to handle different kinds of feedback, the good, the bad, and the ugly. And I’m hoping to hear how you might be using the tips from these sessions to give better feedback.
