Thanks, @grace @burke @hamish @janflowers for a great conversation about analytics and metrics. For those who missed it:

Google Analytics: We decided on a view to publish to our Wiki We learned that our GA data is inaccurate right now because we haven’t been routinely updating GA’s tracking tags We went over how to update them (thanks, @burke!)

Actions:

  • Set up a working session and/or timeline to update the tags
  • Figure out what pages we want to track and why, targets - depends on story we want to tell, what we will actually use

Metrics and what they tell us

  • Metrics give insight into different aspects of OpenMRS: clinical use, product, community health
  • Helpful to have a framework - possibly reflecting community “maturity” or engagement (ie: omrs levels)

Actions:

  • convene a small working group work on a framework
  • start with what we have and make it available on the Wiki.

Note to selves: set realistic timeframes for improvements - quarterly? bi-annually?

More details in the notes, including a link to the call recording.
