Congratulations to Paul Biondich (@paul) and Burke Mamlin (@burke) for winning the 2016 AMIA Signature Award: Donald A.B. Lindberg Award for Innovation in Informatics.
This award is usually given to an individual but AMIA made the decision to co-award Paul and Burke this year.
Their contribution and commitment to the field of informatics has dramatically moved or changed lives all over the world. We are proud of the work they do, the lives they have affected and the team they have put together.
Congratulations again Paul and Burke on this achievement! Well deserved.
It’s an exciting recognition for the project for sure!
From my perspective, the award really isn’t about me or @burke, it’s really about the hundreds and hundreds of people that are committing real time and energy to the project every day. All the way from the additional seminal early founders like @hamish, @darius, @chris, and @bwolfe, to the hundreds of people talking online here daily that have made OpenMRS what it is today. You all either directly or indirectly influence the project, and I hope you’ll share in the recognition that this award represents.
So thanks to everyone from the bottom of my heart for what you all have done to help contribute to this collective success. There is so much more we’ll be able to accomplish together in the years to come!
