The QA Support Team is involved in several different efforts to first improve our general, community QA processes and then work with the PM team and squads to improve the QA tools and processes they use as a part of their release process.
Naturally, this means that there are a few different documents related to these efforts, some of which have already been highlighted above:
-
The QA Support Team’s Roadmap is on the Wiki. This reflects their main activities for the year, such as doing a landscape analysis to identify strengths and weaknesses, identifying an automated test framework or tool to address weaknesses, creating SOPs for using the framework, setting up and piloting the automated tool (CucumberStudio), etc.
-
The roadmap that @sharif shared is for prioiritizing test cases to set up in CucumberStudio. Since CucumberStudio supports integration with Selenium, we are able to leverage the existing tests set up in Selenuim for Ref App testing. The QA Prioritization Criteria spreadsheet includes links to any automated tests that are already set up.

With @christine’s support, @sharif is currently working on a QA Plan and Strategy to guide testing the upcoming Ref App 2.11.0 release. This should include metrics as well as a link to manual test cases for the Ref App. I think it’s still a work in progress, so this would be a good time to give feedback or ask questions.
This will be the first Ref App release since the QA Support Team took steps to improve our QA processes, so we fully expect to see several changes this time around.
