GSoD 2019 : Review and Refactoring our Information Architecture for OpenMRS

@c.antwi let me know when you’re ready.

All of community members may use this link to give their input/suggestions about “curious” persona.

@c.antwi @jennifer

Hi @marslan8530!

Thanks for putting together the map for the “curious” persona. I’m trying to figure out the best way to comment on this. There are a few changes in the flow that I would make in order to provide “curious” people with what they want faster.

For instance, I think if a person is a “curious” implementer, they probably want to go to the implementation guide quickly. Same with a “curious” developer or user.

I know that you had a call with @c.antwi. What would you think about scheduling a Design Forum in the next week or so to walk us all through this map and any others that you are working on to get feedback?

Hey @jennifer,

That’s great, Okay. This page mentions 2 slots. I’m available on both times. Let me know which one suits you.

Hey everyone.

Can i create a new table in our Wiki page Documentation Review Work Needed for pages that are identical and can be merged into a single entity easily?

One example is these 2 pages. OpenMRS Implementation Overview and OpenMRS from Scratch.

@marslan8530 Yes you can

@marslan8530 can you open up the page for the link you created? I have requested permission however…

Which link are you referring to?

Check these links out

Curious Persona

Implementer Persona

Can you good people spare 5 mins for this? (Anyone who sees)

@marslan8530 thanks for coming up with this. its a nice workflow around the documentation and hope you will be around in tomorrow’s documentation meeting to explain more about this nice progress of your work to the rest of the team .:+1:

offcourse, I’m working on low-level of information mapping for resources too and I’ll explain it in meeting for sure. Thank you for taking time to respond

@marslan8530 Would you lead us in a presentation of the work you have done at tommorow’s Documentation Squad meeting at 1pm UTC? That way we can all go through the great work you have done so far .

Have you managed to complete the remaining personas?

Hi @marslan8530

  • "Donate now " should be very prominent on the wiki/website and perhaps should not be buried in the menu.

  • “Get Smarter” title should be changed to “OpenMRS University”

  • We also need to have a menu item for OpenMRS metrics (code contributions, commits etc) @irenyak1 were you able to finish the script that allows one to get stats off github?

  • We may also want to have a menu item for projects (New, Existing, Archived)

Okay,

I’ve completed curious, subject matter expert and implementer persona. I need to ask something about developers persona and that can discuss in meeting @1pm UTC

Hi! I would love to go over these as well, however, I can’t make this week’s Documentation Meeting. Could we please schedule a different day/time to take us through?

“Donate now” is a better fit for the website, not the Wiki.

Hey @jennifer

I agree about donation part. That’s what i had in my mind while hiding it a bit inside. What about arranging a design forum to discuss if you’re not available for documentation meeting? Or we can connect on call personally and discuss if time doesn’t match up with other members?

Okay, we can discuss that.

@marslan8530 thanks for this critical work. keep the fire burning

@c.antwi is it the excel sheet we had populated with Jennifer? I had added it to the README file on Github but I think @darius made some edits and now I can’t find it there. However, @jennifer could be able to share it I hope.
