I just received notification that I’ve been granted GSoC Mentor badge, I think it was suppose to be GSoC Student as I’ve not mentored GSoC before. Or rather GCI Mentor as I’ve declared my intensions for mentoring gci2016.

Sorry for the late response. My internet bundle expired. Now I have two badges, GSoC Mentor and GSoC Student.
Hmm, I’m sure I revoked it before (I did it again now). I see it was granted by the system user though, so there might be some automation happening that’s giving it to you. How about you just volunteer to be a mentor this year to resolve the problem?

Haha. Its fine now. Looks like I didn’t have to wait till GSoC 2017 for it to be fixed.

I believe that everyone added to the mentors’ forum will be added to the badge by the system. Not sure if it’s a problem. I’ve asked @surangak about it.
Same here. Got a GSoC badge but I’ve only participated/mentored in GCI
