I have just downloaded the openmrs-RefApp standalone distro and run it. But on start up, I hit upon this error.

Are you sure this is the default download without any modifications or custom module?

can u extract a fresh package and try to run again…? looks like there are a little modificatons in your extract @samuel34
Hey, I got my download from here, I expect it to be working, maybe am just missing something.
except if its corrupt, check the sizes and confirm that u are using the right download, see: https://sourceforge.net/projects/openmrs/files/releases/OpenMRS_Reference_Application_2.8.0/
