I asked this in the Infra chat but are you outsourcing the infra work to UberOps – replacing the current team?

Sorry @r0bby - I’ve been really sick for a number of days, so I’m trying to catch up a little bit, and @darius is travelling. To answer your question - No, absolutely not regarding UberOps replacing the team. We’ve only asked them to help us think about a long term strategy - a visioning exercise for where we want to be with our infrastructure. They do infrastructure as part of their core business, and they are really awesome folks, so we thought they could help us think about things with an outside perspective. What they gave us so far are areas to consider for how to think about coming up with that strategy. I’ve been meaning to post the information that they gave us, but being sick, haven’t gotten to it. :frowning:

I will probably miss this week. (The call is at midnight China time.)

@r0bby, of course we are not going to replace the current infrastructure team. What possible reason would we have for doing something like that?
