JIRA: changing status

I created a ticket 8 days ago, unfortunately, I didn’t know how to change the status in JIRA. Because this was my issue, I started to solve it. A pull request is currently being made. I know this should not be done this way, so I looked for information on how to change the status of the ticket.

Five years ago, someone wrote that they change the status of the trunk line every week. -> Who is responsible for ERR tickets?

Two years ago someone wrote that a mentor could do it. -> How to change the status of an issue?

There is no information in the tutorial who changes the status of a new application. -> https://wiki.openmrs.org/display/docs/Tickets

For a week, the status has not changed, I do not know any mentor, so can you change the status of the issue to “ready to work” or “in progress”?

Ticket -> https://issues.openmrs.org/browse/TRUNK-5825

Pull request -> https://github.com/openmrs/openmrs-core/pull/3308

Sorry for this, But you can only work on any ticket if its ready for work and if they dont respond to it, you can reach them on irc or comment on these tickets such that they can review and clarify them cc @dkayiwa

@sacull If the ticket is changed to “Ready to work " state, you will be unassigned from the ticket. Since you have claimed it and you are working on it, its “in progress” state unless you want to abandon it! but if you want the pull request to be reviewed then feel free to change to " code review” state and tag someone to help you review.

Status changed to “code review”. Thank you for your help.
