# Is there a Messenger Module in OpenMRS

**Messenger Module:**** Question:** Do you have messenger module in your OpenMRS. In this module there are two category: internal and External.

1. **Internal :** This is use between providers/staff member to communicate with each other.
2. **External :** This is used for notifying patients for their appointment. notifying method like IVR/Voice or SMS/TEXT and they have been notified as per Patient preference or Provider.
