Hi! Starting with Service Queues for GSoC 2026

Heya everyone!

I’m Shubhangi, a developer with experience in Java, backend development, MySQL, and React. I’m interested in contributing to OpenMRS for GSoC 2026, specifically the Service Queues project.

I’ve just set up my local OpenMRS environment with the queue module running and I’m ready to start contributing. I’m particularly interested in backend API performance improvements and fixing reliability issues.

Where can I find good first issues to tackle? Happy to work on performance optimization, backend work, or UI fixes.

Hi! I’m Shubhangi, a new contributor to OpenMRS. I’ve been working on a PR and realized I need a Jira ticket before it can be merged. Could a mentor or admin please help me with the following:
