Hi everyone!
Did you know that there are open Community Office Hours happening every Monday and Wednesday at 6:30pm EAT | 3:30pm UTC |11:30am ET?
This week, I’d love to talk about doing a Lightning Talk at GDHF 2023 on how OpenMRS is being and can be used outside of HIV programs.
When: Wednesday, 30 August 2023 at 9:00pm IST | 6:30pm Nairobi | 5:30pm Cape Town | 3:30pm UTC | 11:30am Boston | 8:30am Seattle.
Where: Launch Meeting - Zoom
More context: GDHF’s theme this year is Driving Effective and Equitable Digital Health Innovations. Abstracts are due Friday, September 1. For more info, see GDHF 2023’s website.
This idea of using OpenMRS beyond HIV was a hugely popular unconferencing topic at OMRS23. One of the big takeaways for me is that the perception that OpenMRS can only be used for HIV programs is very persistent. What are some examples where OpenMRS is being used in other vertical programs? How does OpenMRS support integrations & interoperability with other important systems in the health information arena? How are implementers planning to take OpenMRS beyond HIV in the coming years? How can a Lightning Talk at GDHF this year help bust this myth?
