About Us We are SSUUBO, a Czech-Ugandan non-profit organization providing comprehensive care for patients with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) in rural Uganda (Buikwe region). The Challenge We operate a specialized SCD clinic in a rural setting. While we use OpenMRS, we need a professional developer or experienced implementer (ideally a volunteer or pro-bono) to streamline the workspace. The current default workflows are too complex for our specific needs, and we need to simplify the environment for our staff.
Our Clinic Setup:

Reception: Patient registration and check-in.

3 Consultation Rooms: Specialized SCD ambulances.

1 Ultrasound (USG) Unit: For diagnostic imaging and reports.

Laboratory: Dedicated lab for SCD-related testing.

Pharmacy: Dispensing medication to patients.

Medical Store: Inventory and supply management.

Emergency Unit: Specialized acute care for SCD crises.
Specific Customization Requirements:

Workflow Simplification: We need to “clean up” the OpenMRS interface to show only what is necessary for our specific rural workflow.

Specialized SCD Forms: Custom templates for visit summaries and detailed entry of TCD (Transcranial Doppler) measurements, which are critical for stroke prevention in our patients.

Thermal Printing (10cm Width): A key requirement is the ability to print visit summaries, including medication schedules, on a thermal paper format (10cm wide).
Who We Are Looking For: We are seeking someone with experience in OpenMRS (O3) who is willing to contribute their expertise to a high-impact humanitarian project. Your work will directly improve the care of hundreds of children and families battling Sickle Cell Disease.
