So, @jwnasambu , renaming the user from formage doesn’t work.
The ‘saving’ screen, which was supposed to disappear, doesn’t. Because there’s a massive exception on the logs, that’s why.
Also, you don’t seem to have renamed it in talk/discourse either. Do you remember if there was any confirmation saying it was successful?

Renaming in talk doesn’t work as well.
@sekisis2010 but I think I might have some workaround, just testing.

@jwnasambu I think I successfully renamed the user, I documented the steps in https://github.com/openmrs/openmrs-contrib-itsmresources/wiki/Rename-user
Are you able to double check there’s nothing missing?

Probably will need to log out and back in again when completed so that Discourse gets the refreshed data

I think all is in order, @prabodhk .
You might need to login again to talk in both your devices.
Your old password should work as usual, but reset should work as well.

Does this mean that we need to change the assignee for all these tickets? https://issues.openmrs.org/issues/?jql=assignee%20%3D%20pkatopenmrs

It seems so, @dkayiwa
I thought that JIRA had done that for us. Can you do that and add to the wiki page?

Instructions on how to handle that – Specifying a User's Aliases | Crowd Data Center and Server 5.2 | Atlassian Documentation is likely how to do it. You will need to login to Crowd and enable user aliasing.
