Ability to customize reference application to have custom encounters

Hi all, I am new to OpenMRS and have been playing around for couple of weeks. I am trying to do the following.

1. Create new encounter types like Sample collections, Engraftments, custom Vitals
2. Link to forms in General Actions section in Patient Dashboard so clinical staff can quickly enter these information
3. Display a summary of these data collected in the Dashboard

I am able to do the 1st point. But 2nd point is not working. Any advice to follow to add these forms to patient dashboard General Actions section?
